The Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem is one of the most well-known events in biblical history, which took place during the celebration of Passover in the Christian tradition. This event is described in all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). According to the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus arrived in the town of Bethphage near Jerusalem and instructed two of His disciples to bring Him a donkey and its colt. Jesus then rode on the donkey and began to journey towards Jerusalem, and the believers who were in the city were informed of His arrival. Crowds of people gathered to welcome Jesus, laying their clothes on the road and cutting branches from trees to pave the way for Him. Jesus entered Jerusalem amidst the noise of a great throng of people shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" (Matthew 21:9). This day is also known as Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday.
